2020 SCHOLARSHIPS – PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & EDUCATION

The Women in Aviation International (WAI) North Texas (NTX) Chapter is offering three scholarships in 2020, two valued at $1,000 each and one valued at $500, all to help the winners in their pursuit of their aviation dreams. These scholarships will be awarded to three WAI Chapter Members who are pursuing flight training, continuing education, college degrees, professional development, or other structured course-work.


The winner of the $1,000 scholarships will be, paid directly to the educational institution/provider of each winner. The winner of the $500 scholarship will be paid to either the educational institution/provider of the winner, or to the winner’s credit source to assist the winner in paying down training incurred in their school or training.


The WAI NTX chapter may award up to 3 scholarships, but is under no obligation to award any of the scholarships if qualified candidates have not made application.


A successful applicant will:

  • Be aged 16 years or older;

  • Be an active member of Women in Aviation International as of 12/31/2019;

  • Be an active member of the WAI North Texas Chapter as of 12/31/2019;

  • Describes what you will use the scholarship for, including:

  • Course/Session Name

  • Time Frame

  • Educational provider


Submit a written essay that:

  • Is approximately one type-written, 8.5” x 11” page

  • Single Spaced

  • 12pt font

  • Describes what you hope to gain from the education.

  • Describes what your next steps are.

  • Describes your aviation aspirations, be they either personal or professional.

  • Tells the story about why the scholarship will help you in your aviation and/or professional journey.

  • Describes your current involvement in aviation.

  • Describes the community service/educational outreach you have completed in the last year.

  • Represents your professionalism, passion, and excellence.

Members of the WAI North Texas Chapter Scholarship Subcommittee or their families are not eligible for application or award of these scholarships.

 2020 SCHOLARSHIPS - CONFERENCE
DUE DATE: 11:59PM, JANUARY 31, 2020


The Women in Aviation International (WAI) North Texas (NTX) Chapter is offering four scholarships in 2020 that will send chapter members to the 2020 WAI Conference in Orlando, March 5-7:

  • Full conference registration (see Conference Brochure HERE), including:

  • Connect reception

  • Friday luncheon

  • Saturday celebration dinner

  • Shared hotel stay for length of the Conference. Note, room will be shared with same-sex WAI NTX chapter member and scholarship winner.

  • $200 stipend for air travel and incidentals (may involve use of flight coupons so travel will need to be coordinated with the WAI NTX Chapter).

  • Does not include tours, side trips, paid seminars or workshops, or flight costs, meals, baggage fees, or other costs beyond the $200 stipend.

 

The WAI NTX chapter may award up to 4 scholarships, but is under no obligation to award any of the scholarships if qualified candidates have not made application.
A successful applicant will:

  • Applicants under the age of 18 please note: If you win the scholarship, your parent or legal guardian will need to attend with you, at their own cost.

  • Be available to travel to Orlando, Florida, March 5-7, 2020;

  • Be an active member of Women in Aviation International as of 12/31/2019;

  • Be an active member of the WAI North Texas Chapter as of 12/31/2019;

  • Submit a written essay that:

  • Represents your professionalism, passion, and excellence.
